My name is Vernon Green. I am a 64 year old African American. I was born on February 10th, 1961, in Vineland, NJ. I am the oldest of nine siblings. My mother married my stepfather when I was nine months old. I have no knowledge of my biological father. I attended Millville Jr. and Sr. in Millville, NJ. In 1979, I joined the Army Reserve National Guard June (from June of 1979 to June 1985). In 1992, I attended the Atlantic Community College in Mays Landing, NJ (from 1992 to 1994 Majoring in Computer SystemsTechnology). In 2003, I attended Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ (from 2003 to 2005 Majoring in Psychology then switching over to Sociology). In 2011, I moved to Trenton, NJ. I then registered at Mercer County Community College (from 2011 to 2013 Majoring in Sociology). From there, to the now, Saint Elizabeth University, in Morristown, NJ (from 2023 to current with a Double Major in Religious Studies and a Minor in Sociology).
I am currently an EOF and Global Scholars Participant.
In January of 2025, I was a Mentor in the Winter Bridge Program at Saint Elizabeth University and from March to April of 2025, I was a Mentor in the Project Rise Program, also at Saint Elizabeth University.
My Goal, is to Graduate in 2026 with Two Bachelors Degrees (Religious Studies and Sociology). I then plan to do an additional year to get my Masters Degree in Theology.
I see my future as working in the community, helping with aiding and assisting people, especially, our youth. I have first hand knowledge of what it is like to grow up in a very dysfunctional environment. For this reason, and many others is why I am a fit for the REAP Apprenticeship Program.
I am a Sports Enthusiasts who likes all sorts of sporting events, though my passion is football. I am a Philadelphia Eagles Sports Fan. I enjoy walks, music (Jazz, especially), museums, amusement parks, you name it, I claim it (just as long as it is fun and drama free)!!!
Last, but not least, I am not married and I have a daughter who is 30 years old and two grandson's.
