We have created this space centered around consistent Wellness programming, Food Justice, Land ownership and preservation and educating/training Urban Agriculturalists and Black Earth-workers of the future.
To expand our efforts in our Environmental Justice advocacy, Community Wellness, and supplying needed resources to our Black and Brown community members, educators, and families we serve we acquired a 1/4 acre Community Garden through the Adopt-A-Lot program in the North Ward of Newark NJ called A Healing Sanctuary.
A Healing Sanctuary is a transformative neighborhood food garden stewarded by STEM URBAN with a focus on healing the community. It provides a tranquil and nurturing space to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through workshops and programs centered around mindfulness, meditation, yoga, creative expression, nature, and farm to table wellness-community members gain valuable tools for self-care and stress relief. "A Healing Sanctuary" is where the community can find solace, rejuvenation, and collective growth.
