Whitney Impellizeri Cignatta, EdD is an Educational Researcher at National University in San Diego, CA. She earned her doctorate in Cognitive Studies in Reading from Widener University in Chester, PA, her master’s degree in Reading Education from The College of New Jersey, and two bachelor’s degrees from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ in the areas of Early Childhood Education and Writing Arts. She completed her post-doc at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Impellizeri Cignatta has published in many peer-reviewed journals and presented at international education research conferences about issues related to increasing equity and access to underserved students. Prior to her role as a researcher, she worked in New Jersey public schools as a special education teacher and Reading Specialist for students in preschool through grade 12. In addition to serving as a board member for STEAM Urban, she volunteers as a girls lacrosse goalie coach at her child’s high school in New Jersey.
